over the weekend, e escaped to denver to hang out with this crowd of niece and nephews:

several weeks ago, e was nominated for the Yowell Award for Excellence in Teaching, one of which is given each year to a graduate assistant in the college of arts and sciences.  we found out today that he won!  i, of course, have been assuming all along that he would get it.  he's been a little irritated with me for getting his hopes up, but clearly it was justified!  he's always gotten outstanding student evaluations and great peer reviews for his teaching, but it's very satisfying to get concrete recognition for something that he loves doing and is so good at.  i'm very proud!
